You asked me how I liked the Icon CPAP machine and I really do like it very much. Compared to my old machine (6-7 years old and needing replaced) I was looking to move into a smaller yet quiet CPAP machine.
I purchased the Icon Auto CPAP machine last Feb 2011 and truly enjoy all its better features.
The more favorable features over my last CPAP machine (also a humidified one) are:
1. Smaller size (nominally 7’ x 7” x 6” high) fits very nicely on my night stand. Now I have room for other items on my night stand that I didn’t have before.
2. The humidifier is a one piece construction versus the old one that was two pieces, thus it is easier for me to clean and handle.
3. The hose connection is on the back of the machine rather than attached to the humidifier which saves me time (granted it is not that much time, but now it is just more streamlined because it eliminates unnecessary steps in the daily routine). When I wake up in the morning I just pull my mask headgear off and hang it up on the bed post.
4. I upgraded to the Auto model that provides a feature called “sensawake” which knows when you are awake and automatically throttles down the air pressure so when I wake up at night I can more quickly fall asleep.
All in all, I am quite pleased with my Icon and feel this company truly put on their thinking cap to provide a better product for the consumer. The Icon CPAP machine proves the old adage of “simpler is better”.
